PVTC 2010 Fall Newsletter

Dear Pleasantview Tennis Club members,

The 2010 has come to an end. The executives want to thank you and your family for you supports for a fun and successful season we had in the 2010.  It is impossible for the club in operation without your support by joining and helping the club. With your support and the hard work of the executives, we have reached the following goals set up for the season:

• Our overall membership count had seen steady growth over 2009 season,  under the current unfavorable and degrading court conditions;
• We have over 70 adult and over 10 junior members participated in the  North York Tennis Association (NYTA) and  Intercounty Tennis Association ( ICTA) leagues and tournaments in the season?
• Our ICTA B team was winner of the B-East division and will move up and play in the A division next season. Congratulations! The team has qualified and  won the 2^nd place among 16 teams  in the B divisions in the ICTA final tournament at Rexall Center; see attached Photo;

• Our juniors had competed in the NYTA Alex Cooper tournament and had won the championship at Boy U-14 and entered two finals in girls U-14 and U-16 respectively; 
• We had balanced budget with a revenue increase of about $2000.

Great News

•   Some progress regarding the court reconstruction has been made. We received an email from the City last week indicating that the project is in the City’s 2011 plan with a funding of $140,000. The club will follow up with the City on the progress and make arrangement for the next season.

The 2010 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday Oct. 23, 2010 at the clubhouse starting from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.
